"I have no previous experience of taking golf lessons elsewhere and consider myself a beginner, having played quite infrequently for the past year. The information and coaching I have received has been very clear and easy to understand. Richard takes time to repeat demonstrations, using the same verbal descriptions so that they start to become automatic.
The coaching sessions are interactive, in that he stretches me to identify required skills, rather than just telling me the correct way. He usually asks me to recap what I have learned at the end of a session, to be sure I will be able to remember what I need to practice between lessons. Richard has been totally Professional without being to formal. He is easy to talk to and I feel relaxed.
I feel I am achieving what I had hoped for in the lessons as everything is structured, with small steps that lead gradually into the next skill. I found the lesson plan helpful as it meant I could see the direction the lessons would take me. My progress is building my confidence. Richard is very positive and encourages. "I have known Richard since July 2004 when he joined The Wiltshire Golf and Country Club as Head PGA Professional. At the time I was struggling with my game and despite having received tuition previously was making little, if any progress.
After the first lesson it was clear that Richard's teaching ability and approach generally to my training were going to make a significant difference. I cannot recall since, ever leaving a lesson with Richard and not feeling satisfied and good about the improvements I had made.The delivery and results of Richard's teaching far excelled my expectation.
The enthusiasm that Richard displayed was wonderful and he eagerly shared with me the details of the Development courses and conferences that he attended.
Thanks to Richard I am now able to play with confidence and with players of all standards. I can easily identify errors and make corrections to my swing as needed because of the training I have recived from him.
Had I not emigrated I would have continued my coaching with him. Although I am not yet in need of more coaching I would not consider an alternative teacher. If ever my swing suffers and is in need of some repair work I would arrange for a visit to wherever Richard is coaching.
Richard taught my wife and children who all miss him and often discuss the great times they had during his lessons. It takes, in my opinion a greater deal of skill to teach very young children, retain their concentration and interest and accomplish a modicum of success which Richard did with an abundance of professionalism, humour and natural ability.
