Using the correct equipment is very important. Why make the game any more difficult for yourself.

Golf companies spend millions in the technological developments of Golf equipment from golf clubs and balls to clothing and even measuring devices, all to help create better performance. If by using this legal technology it moves us towards reducing our scores then surely our enjoyment of the game will increase!

Using clubs that are custom fit personally to you can potentially reduce your scores even more. Below is a list of some of the factors that are considered when being custom fit.

  1. Shaft flex – high, mid or low bend point – matching swing speed
  2. Shaft torque
  3. Shaft material – steel or graphite
  4. Grip – thickness, compound and markings
  5. Length
  6. Lie angle
  7. Swing weight
  8. Head design
  9. Head material
  10. Loft and bounce (wedges)
  11. Loft (driver)

The type of ball you use is also very important to make sure you get the most from it. Below are some factors you might need to take into consideration. To ensure it matches your swing speed and any other personal requirements from it.

  1. Compression
  2. Dimple design
  3. Cover type
  4. Spin rates

Glove material (leather or synthetic) and does it fit correctly.
Are you wearing the right size golf shoes and do they provide enough stability when making a swing.
